Mac users better hope they can borrow a mate's PC if they want to file their taxes online.

For the 15th year in a row Apple users have been barred from using the Australian Taxation Office's (ATO) "e-tax" website to file their tax return online.

The number of tax returns filed online has risen to 2.6 million last financial year - up from just 13,500 in 1999.

And while the tax office has been promising for years to make the website available to Mac users but once again in 2012 only users running Windows were able to file online.
