We all now know the retina display's awesome resolution from our iPad third generations. Now Apple has slipped displays of this resolution into their next generation MacBook Pro's. How does this differ to your average PC laptop which has been sporting a HD dsiplay for years?

Apple is pushing the bounds on manufacturing principles in order to push the bounds of its products. In every other laptop, the LCD screen is a piece that is bought from an LCD manufacturer and packaged into a laptop. Here, the LCD is virtually built right into the laptop. Apple's holistic approach to product design goes all the way through to its suppliers, pushing them to do things that just weren't done before.

<sarcasm>It's also beneficial to the customers, because they no longer have to worry about replacing faulty parts, they just replace the whole laptop! </sarcasm>
